The ENTREE Model for Integrating Technologically Rich Learning Strategies in a School of Nursing

Abstract 

Nursing education organizations such as the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and the National League for Nursing have called for change in undergraduate curricula. The health care environment of today requires new graduate nurses to be information fluent and competent in use of technological tools. However, incorporating health care technology and innovative educational tools such as high-fidelity simulation into nursing curricula can be daunting to faculty because of the steep learning curve. The ENTREE model described here is a systematic approach to developing faculty to use simulation and other technologies as teaching–learning strategies. Discussion of the ENTREE model, based on other change process theories, is included.
